Leo has two new projects

Revolutionary Road

Leonardo is teaming with Kate Winslet for the first time since "Titanic" for "Revolutionary Road," a Dream Works picture. Sam Mendes (who is married to Winslet) will direct the movie, which is based on the 1961 novel by Richard Yates about post-war disillusionment.

Set in the mid-1950s, DiCaprio and Winslet play a young couple with children living in a Connecticut suburb who are caught between their true desires and the pressure to conform. Their dilemma has explosive consequences.

 

Body of Lies

Leonardo recently signed on to the production of 'Body of Lies,' an upcoming Warner Brothers movie due to start filming in Morocco and Washington DC in late 2007. This will be Leonardo's first time working with director Ridley Scott. William Monahan is writing the screenplay for the movie which is based on a novel by David Ignatius. This will be Monahan's second project with Leonardo, fresh off of his Oscar win for Best Adapted Screenplay for 'The Departed.'

'Body of Lies' is about a journalist (DiCaprio), injured in the Iraq war, who is hired by the CIA to track down an Al Qaeda leader in Jordan who is suspected of planning a terrorist attack on the United States.

'Body of Lies' is due for release in 2008. 

"The 11th Hour" To Have World Premiere at Cannes Film Festival

 

The Cannes Film Festival, considered by many to be the world's most prestigious film festival, has chosen "The 11th Hour" as an Official Selection for its 60th Anniversary, May 16 - 27, 2007.

The environmental documentary will premiere as a Special Screening, Out of Competition.

Leonardo produced, co-wrote and narrated the film, which includes interviews from more than 50 leading thinkers, scientists, visionaries and experts on the state of the global environment. The film looks at the human impact on our planet and highlights solutions that can help restore the earth's damaged eco-systems.

Directed by Leila Conners Petersen and Nadia Conners, and produced by Conners Petersen, Chuck Castleberry and Brian Gerber, "The 11th Hour" will open domestically in Fall 2007.
